History

Coöperatie voor de Scheepvaart Bebeka U.A. (Bebeka Cooperative) was founded in 1961 by a number of shipowners from the Northern Netherlands. This was prompted by the difficult economic situation of the maritime industry. Several shipowners joined forces to achieve better prices through joint procurement of fuel. The aim of the cooperative is to offer its members as many advantages as possible through joint procurement and sharing knowledge. From day one, the members' interests have been put first. The cooperative operates on a non-profit basis. Positive financial results are returned to the members in the form of discounts. Over the years, Bebeka's membership has grown to about 450. Our members are active in all segments of the maritime industry. This makes Bebeka a strong player in the market, with high purchasing power.
